Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Introduction
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023.
The statement sets down Drayton Construction Ltd.’s commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and the steps we have put in place with the aim of ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our own business and supply chains. We all have a duty to be alert to risks, however small. Staff are expected to report their concerns and management to act upon them.
Organisational structure and supply chains
This statement covers the business activities of Drayton Construction Ltd which are as follows:
Civil Engineering and Groundworks working both in public and private sectors with approximately 150 suppliers. Working throughout the South of England. Our offices are based in the village of Steventon in Oxfordshire.
Our High-Risk Areas
We do not consider any of our business high risk, having studied how each individual has joined our employment. We do not have a high turnover of staff, many of which are family and friends of family.
Training
To ensure a good understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains, the Company conducts training for our procurement/buying teams so that they understand the signs if modern slavery and what to do if they suspect that it is taking place within our supply chain.
Policies
The Company is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or our supply chains. This Statement affirms its intention to act ethically in our business relationships.
The following policies set down our approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and steps to be taken to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our operations:
Whistleblowing policy - the Company encourages all its workers, customers, and other business partners to report any concerns related to its direct activities or its supply chains.
Company Code of Conduct - The Code of Conduct sets down the actions and behaviour expected of employees when representing the Company.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy - The Company’s CSR policy summarises how we manage our environmental impacts and how we work responsibly with suppliers and local communities.
Recruitment Policy - the company operate a robust recruitment policy, including conducting eligibility to work in the UK, checks for all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.
Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking
Though Drayton Construction Ltd does not currently operate a supplier policy and does not maintain a preferred supplier list. As part of our continued process of improvement we are in the process of identifying our preferred suppliers and will be sending them a questionnaire that in addition to other aspects will cover modern slavery.

We may terminate the contract at any time should any instances of modern slavery come to light

We will know the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain if

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary. The Board of Directors endorses this policy statement and is fully committed to its implementation.
