ABOUT: Part of a county wide plan to give residents more options for travel as outlined in the Local Transport and Connectivity Plan. Active travel – walking wheeling and cycling – can help improve people’s health and wellbeing, reduce traffic congestion and help address the climate crisis.
The project created safe cycling and pedestrian routes along the main routes into the city including build outs at junctions, new cycle lanes, safe crossing points and new signing and lining to 20mph along these routes.
Project completed on time and within budget in busy centre of town locations requiring out of hours, restricted hours working to deal with traffic and pedestrian restraints.
